The Superbet Poland Rapid & Blitz took place in Warsaw 6th to 13th May 2024. Players: Magnus Carlsen, Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Wei Yi, Arjun Erigaisi, Vincent Keymer, Kirill Shevchenko, Dommaraju Gukesh, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu and Anish Giri. Magnus Carlsen just edged out Wei Yi with a dominant 7/7 blitz start to the final day including beating Wei Yi. Wei Yi won the rapid, half a point clear of Carlsen. Carlsen won the blitz by 1.5 points from Wei Yi, both were miles clear of everyone else. Wei Yi has been a well known figure for at least 10 years becoming a GM at 13, now at 24 he finally seems to be living up to his undoubted potential.
