The 8th Vugar Gashimov Memorial took place Sun 18th Dec to Sat 24th Dec 2022. The event was a mixture of rapid and blitz with the rapid games being worth double the blitz. Players: Rapport, Shankland, Vallejo Pons, Wang Hao, Mamedyarov, Mamedov, Gadimbayli, Suleymanli, Abdusattorov and Gukesh. Nodirbek Abdusattorov ran away with it scoring 25.5/36 a full five points clear of Rauf Mamedov and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov.
