Nodirbek Abdusattorov won another impressive game today beating Jorden Van Foreest. This means the 18 year old Uzbek extended his lead to a full point on 5.5/7 after his closest rivals Anish Giri and Fabiano Caruana both drew. Caruana was on the defensive for the early part of the game before Parham Maghsoodloo overpressed and was lost. Caruana could not find a way to convert in a long and tiring game of 106 moves. R Praggnanandhaa moved into joint second with a very good win against Jorden Van Foreest, he has been very solid so far. Wesley So also moved into joint second with a win against D Gukesh who is having a very tough time. The other winner was Magnus Carlsen who returned to a 50% score after beating Richard Rapport. The event is living up to my very high expectations so far. In the Challengers group there was a battle of the leaders where Alexander Donchenko beat Mustafa Yilmaz, Javokhir Sindarov is now in clear second place.
