Today was a quiet day even after a day of rest. A win for second placed Anish Giri against Nodirbek Abdusattorov would have allowed him to replace the leader at the top of the standings but after mixing up his lines he didn't get anything and the game was drawn in 29 moves. Magnus Carlsen tried for 58 moves against Wesley So but never seemed to generate realistic winning chances. R Praggnanandhaa's tournament continues to go bad after losing a third game, this time to Parham Maghsoodloo. Praggnanandhaa had a promising position but after choosing the wrong plan he was instead lost. This was the only decisive game of the day. FM Michiel Abeln's report is below. Alexander Donchenko is the sole leader after defeating Amin Tabatabaei while the previous joint leader Mustafa Yilmaz drew against Jergus Pechac.
